TL;DR
Oncology Development Executive (Outside Sales) (Oncology Diagnostics): Driving business development and territory growth for oncology diagnostics, hereditary cancer, and precision medicine solutions across healthcare organizations with an accent on consultative selling, strategic account management, and clinical-scientific expertise. Focus on expanding testing adoption, managing complex multi-stakeholder sales cycles, and developing partnerships across oncology practices, pathology groups, health systems, and academic medical centers.

Location: Field-based role associated with Jersey City, New Jersey, and a Western/Upstate/Albany, New York State territory, including Buffalo, the Finger Lakes, Central New York, the Southern Tier, the Capital District, and the North Country. Travel up to 75% within the assigned territory; the ideal candidate resides in the territory.

Salary: $130,000–$150,000 annually, plus eligibility for bonus and/or commissions.

What you will do

  • Drive new business acquisition, competitive displacement, market penetration, revenue growth, and market share across oncology practices, pathology groups, cancer centers, health systems, IDNs, and academic medical centers.
  • Develop territory growth strategies that expand adoption of oncology diagnostics, hereditary cancer testing, and precision medicine solutions.
  • Build relationships with physician leaders, pathologists, healthcare executives, administrators, and other strategic decision makers.
  • Lead consultative sales engagements focused on oncology diagnostics, testing strategy optimization, operational efficiency, and precision medicine adoption.
  • Represent solutions including molecular diagnostics, genomic profiling, liquid biopsy, ctDNA, MRD, biomarker, NGS-based testing, pathology, hematopathology, cytogenetics, and virtual pathology.
  • Coordinate sales, pathology, medical affairs, market access, operations, and executive resources while managing pipeline development, forecasting, and competitive intelligence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED with 9 years of experience, an associate degree with 7 years, a bachelor's degree with 5 years, or a master's degree with 3 years of experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in oncology sales, oncology diagnostics, molecular diagnostics, pharmaceutical oncology, biotechnology oncology, laboratory services, or precision medicine commercialization.
  • At least 5 years of business development, territory management, or strategic account management experience.
  • At least 5 years of selling into oncology practices, pathology groups, cancer centers, health systems, IDNs, or academic medical centers.
  • Experience with complex healthcare sales cycles, consultative selling, strategic planning, quota attainment, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in business administration, public health, life sciences, healthcare administration, pharmacy, or a scientific discipline.
  • Experience with genomics, hereditary cancer, companion diagnostics, liquid biopsy, comprehensive genomic profiling, pathology services, or precision medicine solutions.
  • Experience supporting enterprise accounts, GPO contracting, RFP processes, academic medical centers, or strategic account management.
  • Experience selling pathology, hematopathology, cytogenetics, ctDNA, MRD, or biomarker testing solutions.
