Applied AI & Multilingual NLP Engineering — Master's/Doctorate-Level Postgraduate Internship

Location: HSITP Innovation Park, Hong Kong. Candidates must be based in Hong Kong or able to work from Hong Kong and legally eligible to work there.

hirify.global is a Toronto-based language synthesis AI company developing technology for multilingual access to information and preparing for an IPO.

What you will do

• Develop and improve multilingual NLP and large language model workflows for contextual translation and localization.
• Build AI capabilities for text, voice, video, dialogue, and digital-content localization.
• Experiment with prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, model adaptation, fine-tuning, and inference optimization.
• Build, clean, structure, and validate multilingual datasets and evaluation test cases covering dialects, code-switching, terminology, tone, and cultural references.
• Evaluate model outputs for semantic accuracy, consistency, cultural appropriateness, latency, and usability.
• Support AI integration into prototypes, product interfaces, APIs, and pilot environments while documenting experiments and technical decisions.

Requirements

• Master's or doctorate enrollment or completion is mandatory in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, NLP, computational linguistics, data science, software engineering, or a related field.
• Strong Python programming ability and knowledge of NLP, machine learning, transformer architectures, embeddings, and large language models.
• Familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers, or comparable AI and NLP frameworks.
• Familiarity with Git, APIs, cloud environments, structured datasets, and collaborative software development.
• Strong analytical, research, problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.
• Must be based in Hong Kong or able to work from Hong Kong with legal eligibility to work there.

Nice to have

• Experience with prompt engineering, fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation, model evaluation, or inference workflows.
• Experience with multilingual NLP, machine translation, speech technologies, language synthesis, or localization.
• Professional proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin.
