TL;DR
Software Engineer Intern (AI): Building and optimizing core systems for large-scale AI deployments with an accent on systems software, embedded systems, and distributed systems. Focus on implementing and testing software solutions, supporting customer proofs of concept and production deployments, and solving complex computer systems problems.
Location: Hybrid/on-site in Burnaby, British Columbia and the Lower Mainland; candidates must reside in the area and hold valid Canadian work authorization.

What you will do
- Design, implement, test, and peer-review software solutions.
- Collaborate with engineers to build and optimize core systems.
- Support customers through project scoping, proof of concept, early trials, and production or escalation support.
- Contribute to shaping company culture and improving how the startup operates.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with internship experience.
- Proficiency in Python, C, or C++.
- Understanding of systems software, including embedded systems and distributed systems.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, learning, and ownership skills.
- Must reside in the Lower Mainland area and hold valid Canadian work authorization.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker.
- Familiarity with SQL or NoSQL databases.
