Engineering Internship (AI/ML)

Location: Remote, open to applicants who can work in the USA or Canada

A remote technology, gaming, and content company building a global platform for playing, learning, and enjoying chess.

What you will do

• Build product features and optimize systems for a global top-100 website.
• Contribute to technology, architecture, workflow, and design decisions.
• Optimize data preprocessing and feature engineering pipelines.
• Develop, train, and deploy machine learning models and integrate them into products.
• Build AI applications powered by large language models.
• Contribute to the engineering knowledge base while working with a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a college, university, or equivalent bootcamp and seeking a degree.
• Interest in chess and willingness to share it with a global community.
• Ownership, responsibility, communication, and teamwork.
• For product engineering: experience or coursework with client-side technologies, backend programming, web frameworks, and relational databases.
• For AI/ML engineering: a strong mathematics foundation and understanding of traditional machine learning algorithms.

Nice to have

• Product engineering experience with HTML, CSS, TypeScript, Swift, Kotlin, Golang, Java, PHP, web frameworks, or MySQL.
• AI/ML experience with Python, scikit-learn, PyTorch, SQL, LLMs, RAG, context engineering, evaluations, or agentic patterns.
