Manager, Strategic and Academic Initiatives

Salary: $7,158.42–$10,292.25 CAD monthly

What you will do

• Lead and oversee complex strategic projects aligned with the Faculty of Health and Social Development’s strategic plan and academic mission.
• Design, implement, administer, and evaluate strategic, tactical, and operational initiatives.
• Coordinate consultations and stakeholder engagement across academic, administrative, and university units.
• Develop academic initiatives, policies, systems, procedures, business plans, and governance materials.
• Identify and manage project risks, implementation barriers, opportunities, and long-term solutions.
• Supervise graduate support administrators and manage recruitment, performance, training, and development for direct reports.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline and at least three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong project, policy, process management, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills.
• Experience working across a large, multidisciplinary environment and managing teams or staff.
• Knowledge of university governance, academic activities, research, and administrative policies and procedures.
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders, manage complex or tense situations, and communicate complex information clearly.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, anti-racism, and decolonization.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in project management, business management, business administration, educational policy, or a related field.
• PMP designation.
• Experience or education in health or health sciences.
• Experience developing research and evaluation methodologies to assess initiative effectiveness.
