Principal Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote; office options in Mountain View, Seattle, or San Francisco, United States. Remote work is available in countries where hirify.global has a legal entity.

United States base salary: $174,051–$227,233 in Zone C, $188,730–$246,398 in Zone B, or $209,700–$273,775 in Zone A per year.

What you will do

• Define the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for third-party enterprise connectors.
• Design high-throughput extraction and delta-sync pipelines for documents, transcripts, chat threads, and activity signals.
• Standardize connector orchestration, distributed task execution, and scheduling patterns with platform teams.
• Structure third-party context for RAG retrieval, enterprise search, and agentic workflows.
• Establish connector-level SLOs, observability, error budgets, and operational readiness.
• Author technical designs, RFCs, and architecture reviews while mentoring senior engineers.

Requirements

• Deep experience architecting, building, and operating high-throughput ingestion systems, ETL pipelines, or SaaS integration services in production.
• Experience managing distributed systems against strict SLOs and building comprehensive telemetry and tracing.
• Ability to lead technical vision across multiple concurrent workstreams and translate product strategy into technical execution.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with Product, Design, and platform engineering teams.
• Experience coaching and developing senior engineers.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, service-to-service authentication, enterprise directories, and complex ACL or permission mapping.
• Experience integrating major enterprise platforms with rate limits, pagination, webhooks, and delta-sync APIs.
