Principle Validation Engineer (AI)

Base salary: $185,000–$240,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Develop comprehensive post-silicon validation plans for connectivity ICs and board products.
• Design and execute electrical validation tests to measure device performance, margins, and specification compliance.
• Automate IC, board, and bench testing with Python and analyze validation data.
• Design experiments to root-cause unexpected behavior and optimize high-speed data links.
• Collaborate with internal customers to quantify margins and ensure product robustness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of experience testing, supporting, or developing complex SoC or silicon products and high-speed I/O or SerDes interfaces for server, storage, or networking applications.
• Experience leading SoC validation, debugging, and development for high-speed interfaces such as Ethernet or PCIe.
• Knowledge of Ethernet and PCIe standards, electrical compliance, NRZ and PAM signaling, PLLs, CTLE, DFE, and Tx EQ.
• Strong Python scripting, object-oriented programming, Git, bench automation, data analysis, and experience with BERT, oscilloscopes, and VNAs.
• Proven ability to solve problems independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and work with minimal supervision.

Nice to have

• Signal integrity experience related to Ethernet, PCIe, CEM, or NVMe testing.
• Working knowledge of C or C++ for embedded firmware and serial interfaces such as I2C and SPI.
• Experience with electrical compliance discussions, industry workshops, or standards committees.
• Knowledge of schematic capture, PCB layout, MATLAB, Keysight ADS, or PLTS.
