Senior Security Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote within the United States. Candidates in the DMV area are strongly encouraged to work onsite at the Baltimore-area office in Woodlawn, Maryland, once per week, typically Tuesday or Thursday.

What you will do

• Engineer, implement, configure, troubleshoot, and monitor security measures for systems, networks, and information.
• Develop security architecture, technical cybersecurity designs, security tools, and automation for repeatable tasks.
• Monitor and report vulnerabilities, security risks, incidents, and assessment-based findings.
• Prepare and maintain security operations SOPs, protocols, and federal security documentation.
• Maintain ATOs and related documentation, including SSP, CP, ISRA, tabletop exercises, and PIA materials.
• Manage Splunk, AppOmni, and AWS integrations across web applications, infrastructure scanning, log monitoring, and CDN activity.

Requirements

• Must reside in and be able to perform work in the United States.
• Must have lived in the United States for 3 of the last 5 years and be able to obtain a U.S. Federal Position of Trust clearance designation.
• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, engineering, technology, data science, statistics, analytics, or a related quantitative or software development field.
• Proven experience as a systems security engineer or information security engineer, including FedRAMP systems, ATO processes, NIST 800-53 controls, and annual Adaptive Capabilities Testing.
• Experience with Linux, Windows, Kali, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, network and system monitoring, firewalls, intrusion detection, authentication, log management, and content filtering.
• Proficiency with Nessus, Burp Suite, ZAP, OWASP, Splunk, AppOmni, Python, Bash, and PowerShell.

Nice to have

• AWS Security, Certified Authorization Professional, Certified Ethical Hacker, Certified Network Defense Architect, or CISSP certification.
• Experience with Salesforce.
