Senior Director, Product, Security and Privacy

Location: Remote in the United States

Annual base salary: $260,000–$300,000 USD, plus potential stock options, annual bonus eligibility, and standard benefits.

What you will do

• Advise product and engineering teams across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid offerings throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Review product requirements, feature designs, data flows, APIs, integrations, platform architecture, and launch plans.
• Guide open-source software usage, contributions, licensing models, compliance, governance, and tooling.
• Advise on privacy, data protection, product-embedded privacy features, security controls, data handling, incidents, customer inquiries, and audits.
• Support product-led go-to-market initiatives and scalable legal frameworks for enterprise sales, self-serve, and cloud motions.
• Monitor emerging laws affecting enterprise software, AI, data, and cloud services while training and advising cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• JD or equivalent law degree and an active license in good standing in at least one jurisdiction.
• 10+ years of relevant legal experience focused on product, technology, or commercial matters.
• Experience supporting enterprise software, cloud services, or developer-focused products.
• Strong knowledge of software licensing, SaaS models, open-source licensing, privacy, and data protection frameworks.
• Ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable guidance for technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• In-house experience at a B2B SaaS or open-source company.
• Familiarity with database technologies, developer platforms, or infrastructure software.
• Experience with AI/ML, data platforms, or regulated enterprise customers.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, globally distributed organization.
