Azure Cloud Engineer (Microsoft Azure)

Location: Must be located in North Charleston, South Carolina, or Stafford, Virginia, with periodic visits to the customer site. Remote work is offered with required site visits.

Salary: $145,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the migration of the on-premises Software Asset Monitoring System into Microsoft Azure.
• Design and build Azure development, test, and production environments.
• Operate, monitor, and optimize Azure networking, virtual machines, dedicated hosts, databases, security, storage, monitoring, and API services.
• Provide Azure architecture recommendations and translate them into actionable engineering plans.
• Ensure cloud environments meet security, performance, scalability, availability, and compliance requirements.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, network, compute, and data-service issues while collaborating with project managers, developers, and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Active Secret Clearance and ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, plus 2–4 years of related experience.
• Hands-on experience configuring, deploying, and operating Microsoft Azure environments.
• Experience with virtual machine architecture, dedicated hosts, cloud-hosted infrastructure, and on-premises-to-Azure migrations.
• Operational knowledge of Azure Virtual Network, VMs, SQL Database, Key Vault, Azure Files, Application Gateway, API Management, and Azure Monitor.
• Must be located in North Charleston, SC, or Stafford, VA for periodic customer-site visits.

Nice to have

• Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, or Azure DevOps Engineer certification.
• Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics and enterprise data-platform integrations.
• Experience with ARM or Bicep templates, PowerShell, Terraform, or similar automation tools.
• Knowledge of cloud security, Zero Trust, monitoring, logging, and Azure performance optimization.
