Reliability Engineer (Hardware FMEA)

What you will do

• Lead and facilitate DFMEA and PFMEA activities for electronic, electrical, mechanical, and system-level hardware products.
• Identify failure modes, root causes, and failure mechanisms, then develop risk mitigation and corrective action plans.
• Develop reliability requirements, reliability growth plans, predictions, metrics, and qualification test strategies.
• Define, coordinate, and analyze environmental, electrical, mechanical, EMC/EMI, safety, and regulatory qualification testing.
• Perform failure analysis, root-cause analysis, field-return analysis, and reliability trend assessment.
• Collaborate with hardware, PCB, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams to improve product robustness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical, electronics, mechanical, reliability engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in hardware development, reliability engineering, or product qualification.
• Strong knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, FTA, risk management, and technical documentation.
• Experience with electronic assemblies, PCBAs, power electronics, electromechanical systems, and hardware qualification testing.
• Familiarity with IEC, JEDEC, Telcordia, MIL-HDBK-217, and IPC standards.
• Experience with statistical analysis, Weibull analysis, reliability modeling, and root-cause investigation.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-voltage systems, industrial equipment, semiconductor equipment, or complex electromechanical products.
• Knowledge of accelerated life testing and reliability growth modeling.
• Six Sigma, ASQ Reliability Engineer, or equivalent certification.
• Experience with ReliaSoft, Windchill Quality Solutions, Minitab, JMP, or equivalent tools.
