Producer (News)

Location: Fully remote, based in Dallas, Texas; the role reports to Miami bureau leadership and requires frequent domestic and international travel.

Salary: USD 95,000–135,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop, pitch, report, write, fact-check, and produce daily news, longform, investigative, lifestyle, and human-interest stories.
• Collaborate with correspondents, show teams, senior producers, control rooms, assignment desks, editors, and legal teams.
• Produce live and taped segments, breaking-news coverage, live shots, remote anchor setups, and cross-platform content.
• Conduct original reporting, research, source interviews, guest bookings, pre-interviews, and talking-point preparation.
• Oversee field operations and coordinate correspondent schedules while traveling as needed.
• Work with editors on video packages, graphics, sound, social media, and vertical video content.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in network news, cable, or talk-show production, including live and taped segments.
• Strong journalistic writing, research, fact-checking, storytelling, and editorial judgment skills.
• Experience shooting with DSLR or iPhone and editing with Avid and/or Adobe Premiere.
• Knowledge of U.S. politics, current events, pop culture, and lifestyle trends, plus familiarity with newsroom tools such as Slack, NCX, and Latakoo.
• Must be willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime on short notice, and travel frequently domestically and internationally.

Nice to have

• Experience with live programming and breaking-news coverage.
• Knowledge of NBC News policies, guidelines, and practices.
• Strong creativity in pitching original story ideas and managing multiple priorities.
