Full-Stack AI Engineer

Location: San Juan, Puerto Rico; hybrid, with an average requirement to work 2 days per week from an HPE office

What you will do

• Lead backend development with Python and Django and frontend/UI development with React.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain production AI/ML features, including machine learning models, NLP pipelines, AI APIs, generative AI, chatbot frameworks, and recommender systems.
• Integrate AI and LLM APIs and frameworks, including LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face Transformers, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn.
• Build AI-powered applications using vector databases and search technologies such as Pinecone, Qdrant, Milvus, Weaviate, pgvector, Elasticsearch, and OpenSearch.
• Design REST APIs, maintain PostgreSQL schemas, and develop cloud-native applications across AWS, Azure, GCP, and Oracle Cloud.
• Automate cloud marketplace product validation, onboarding, publishing, and lifecycle management; build CI/CD pipelines and support Docker- and Kubernetes-based deployments in collaboration with DevOps, cloud, and data engineering teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of full-stack software development experience with Python/Django and React.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience developing and integrating AI/ML solutions, including Generative AI, NLP, LLMs, or machine learning applications.
• Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals, NLP, and algorithm implementation.
• Experience architecting AI-powered features delivered through APIs or microservices.
• Practical experience building and automating CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Git, and Artifactory.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including deployments, scaling, and automation.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and infrastructure automation.
• Experience integrating AI/LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or Hugging Face.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, and Oracle Cloud, including cloud marketplace validation, onboarding, and publishing processes.
• Experience automating marketplace publishing and lifecycle management using APIs, CLI tools, or partner integrations, with exposure to VM images, container products, SaaS offerings, BYOL, and usage-based offerings.

Nice to have

• Certifications in AI/ML, AWS, Azure, or Kubernetes.
• Experience deploying large language models or generative AI solutions.
• Familiarity with Helm, Terraform, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Experience with secure AI pipeline delivery, artifact governance, and compliance workflows.
