What you will do

• Design, develop, test, debug, and optimize software for engineering and research applications.
• Develop computational geometry algorithms and scientific software tools for CAD and engineering workflows.
• Create and improve 2D and 3D visualization capabilities using modern graphics technologies.
• Implement numerical methods and simulation capabilities, including finite element and level set approaches.
• Analyze software performance in Linux environments and contribute to scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Collaborate with software engineers, researchers, and domain experts; document technical solutions and present findings.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical discipline with a strong software focus.
• At least 3 months of educational, research, laboratory, internship, or industry experience.
• At least 3 months of academic or professional experience with Python, C++, computational geometry, scientific visualization, CAD tool development, or optimization algorithms.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and software development skills.
• On-site work in Hillsboro, Oregon, United States is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with 2D or 3D computational geometry, mesh generation, solid modeling, voxel processing, or geometry processing.
• Experience with OpenGL, ray tracing, image processing, or scientific visualization.
• Knowledge of finite element methods, level set methods, numerical analysis, parallel programming, or high-performance computing.
• Experience with Qt, scientific or engineering software, or UI/UX development for desktop applications.
