Senior Financial Analyst

Location: Hybrid in Leixlip, Kildare, Ireland; work from an HPE office an average of 2 days per week.

What you will do

• Review monthly profit and loss and balance sheet results for each country, explain variances, and maintain effective balance sheet controls.
• Review balance sheet reconciliation items and work with Bangalore outsourcing partners to clear them.
• Support deals with Sales, Service Excellence, and Portfolio Management teams, including correct revenue recognition and investigation of contract or accounting errors.
• Prepare local GAAP accounts and provide information for tax, internal, SOX, and tax audits.
• Support interim and year-end external audits for Hewlett-Packard International Bank DAC and HPE Group.
• Update quarterly CECL models and monthly reserve templates, support operational risk reporting, and lead or provide expertise to cross-functional projects.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant: ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA.
• Typically 6+ years of experience as a financial analyst.
• Experience in more than one finance function and ability to act as a subject matter expert with significant independent judgment.
• Excellent analytical skills, including complex and highly complex financial analysis, strong problem-solving ability, and strong business acumen.
• Excellent Windows application skills, especially Excel with pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and filters.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines, communicate and influence effectively with non-financial stakeholders, outsourcing partners, and senior management across multiple locations.
• Superior teamwork skills, including mentoring and developing financial analysts and Bangalore team members.
• Ability to identify process improvements and use good project management skills.
• Experience with US GAAP, local GAAP, tax compliance, internal controls, and audit support.

Nice to have

• Business Objects and Power BI experience.
• Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot.
