Finance Planning Accountant (Aviation)

Location: Hybrid in Dublin, Ireland, with 2 days per week in the customer's Dublin office

What you will do

• Prepare and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, and spend controls.
• Process purchase requisitions, manage vendor relationships, and authorise expenditure within delegated limits.
• Reconcile invoices, investigate discrepancies, and maintain accurate financial records.
• Generate financial reports and analysis for decision-making and stakeholder communication.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities and implement process improvements using automation and system enhancements.
• Maintain financial controls and provide budgeting and spend-management guidance to internal teams.

Requirements

• Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in financial accounting or financial planning.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or similar platforms.
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills, with strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Experience managing budgets, forecasting, variance analysis, vendors, and contractors.
• Ability to communicate effectively, meet tight deadlines, and prioritise multiple tasks.

Nice to have

• Experience with financial planning and forecasting software.
• Knowledge of AI or automation tools for process improvement.
• Experience supporting finance functions in technology or IT departments.
• Exposure to SAP S/4HANA or next-generation ERP platforms.
