Systems Software Developer (C/C++, Systems Programming - OS, Kernel)

Location: Hybrid, with an expectation to work an average of 2 days per week from an HPE office

What you will do

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain software for the HPE NonStop platform product portfolio.
• Participate in the full product development lifecycle, including specification, architecture, design, implementation, testing, and integration.
• Define software functional specifications and system architecture with product management and cross-functional teams.
• Develop and analyze designs, implement coding and integration activities, and create and execute complete test plans.
• Apply subject matter expertise and AI throughout the software development lifecycle to solve technical problems.
• Communicate progress and issue resolution with stakeholders and mentor less experienced staff members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent field.
• Typically 5+ years of professional experience.
• Advanced experience with C/C++, scripting, software systems design, operating system concepts, and system programming.
• Hands-on experience designing and developing system products and features such as filesystems and kernels on Linux or similar UNIX systems.
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies, including test planning, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, independent working, and cross-team collaboration skills.
