Senior Network Administrator (Cisco)

Location: Hybrid work split between Columbia and Frederick, Maryland, with an average of 3 days per week on site and 2 days working from home. Candidates must reside in the United States and be U.S. citizens eligible for a U.S. government security clearance or public trust.

Salary: $90,000–$120,000 total compensation, including base salary and variable pay where applicable.

What you will do

• Lead configuration, deployment, administration, and sustainment of Cisco Catalyst 9300 switching infrastructure.
• Design and implement Layer 2 and Layer 3 solutions covering VLANs, routing, QoS, redundancy, and security controls.
• Manage network performance, availability, lifecycle activities, software upgrades, patching, and configuration baselines.
• Troubleshoot complex network, switching, and connectivity issues across operational environments.
• Support voice communication system integration, migration, modernization, and sustainment.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship while coordinating with cybersecurity, systems engineering, and customer stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
• CCNP Enterprise certification or equivalent experience required.
• 7+ years of experience designing, configuring, and administering enterprise network infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst 9300 switches and Cisco IOS-XE.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv6, VLANs, multicast, HSRP, STP, EtherChannel, OSPF, static routing, QoS, and network security principles.
• U.S. residence and citizenship required, with eligibility to receive a U.S. government security clearance or public trust.
