Actuarial Analyst (Healthcare)

Location: Remote Flex in North Carolina and eligible states listed on the posting; remote work with a few in-office visits each year near the Durham headquarters.

Salary: $81,068–$129,708 per year.

What you will do

• Perform actuarial research, experience studies, statistical analyses, and calculations.
• Calculate premiums and reserves for new and existing insurance plans.
• Retrieve and validate data for rate filings, actuarial models, monthly reports, UCL, and ALR calculations.
• Build model enhancements, investigate changes in calculated factors, and analyze impacts across product lines and segments.
• Support rate filings with regulatory agencies, including NCDOI and CMS, and communicate filing status to stakeholders.
• Execute ALR models, research assumption studies, investigate trends and anomalies, and support enterprise risk management and corporate projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree, where required.
• 2+ years of relevant actuarial experience; related experience may be considered.
• At least 3 completed exams toward the ASA designation, with equivalent experience or additional exams potentially accepted in lieu of the minimums.
• Participation in the Actuarial Development Program.
