Pricing Methodology Actuary (Life & Health Insurance)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid work with an expectation to be in the office at least three days per week

Salary: £62,000–£94,000 per year for a full-time role, plus performance-based variable compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Strengthen new business origination through consistent pricing processes, governance requirements, and review frameworks.
• Build and maintain governance frameworks for costing tools and pricing best practices across local, regional, and global requirements.
• Improve pricing methodologies, operating models, controls, operational resilience, documentation quality, and audit readiness.
• Partner with regional costing teams to identify improvement opportunities and implement globally consistent practices.
• Develop solutions for costing tools and related processes using R or similar programming technologies.
• Collaborate with underwriting, valuation, risk, business management, and Life & Health teams to improve business steering and information sharing.

Requirements

• Qualified or nearly qualified actuary with experience in Life & Health insurance or reinsurance.
• Strong understanding of Life & Health pricing, underwriting, risk management, or actuarial frameworks.
• Experience with actuarial methodologies, governance frameworks, process improvements, or best practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and advanced coding skills in R and VBA.
• Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and balance risk controls with commercial considerations.
