Software Engineer (Insurance)

Location: Denver, Colorado, or Seattle, Washington, United States; hybrid work with office attendance up to three days per week.

Base pay: $100,000–$130,000 annually, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Develop and enhance scalable web applications for the Insurance business.
• Build solutions integrating third-party web services, databases, and user-facing interfaces.
• Support existing applications through troubleshooting, bug fixes, upgrades, performance improvements, and functionality changes.
• Translate business requirements and acceptance criteria into reliable, maintainable technical solutions.
• Contribute to code reviews, testing, documentation, design discussions, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with engineers and business partners to communicate technical ideas, questions, and tradeoffs.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience building and supporting web applications.
• Experience with an object-oriented programming language and web framework; the primary stack is C# and .NET/ASP.NET.
• Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
• Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, database design, data access patterns, APIs, service-oriented systems, and event-driven systems.
• Knowledge of maintainable design, SOLID principles, design patterns, code review, unit testing, Agile delivery, and defined acceptance criteria.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; immigration and employment visa sponsorship are not available.

Nice to have

• Exposure to NoSQL databases and cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Azure experience with provisioning, monitoring, performance management, or Application Insights.
• Exposure to AI technologies and tools, HTML5, CSS, and current web development practices.
• Curiosity, willingness to learn unfamiliar technologies, and comfort working in established codebases.
