Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in San Francisco or Vancouver; travel to customer sites as needed, up to 30%. Temporary remote work flexibility is available for 15 days per year.

Compensation: San Francisco on-target earnings of $175,000–$265,000; Vancouver on-target earnings of CA$185,000–CA$275,000.

What you will do

• Work with customer teams and executives to identify and scope high-value AI opportunities.
• Map business processes, connect systems, and structure data so agents operate reliably in customer environments.
• Build, test, deploy, and iterate on hirify.global agents, measuring adoption and business impact.
• Partner with Customer Success and Education to enable customers to operate and expand their own agents.
• Convert deployment learnings into reusable patterns and feedback for Product and Engineering.
• Travel to customer sites as needed, up to 30%, and execute effectively in ambiguous situations.

Requirements

• Approximately 4+ years of technical experience and a record of shipping useful agents or connected systems beyond the prototype stage.
• Technical foundation in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience deploying or implementing software in enterprise environments, including process mapping and work with customer data.
• Working knowledge of JSON, JavaScript, Git, MCPs, and data structures sufficient to build and debug in the field.
• Clear communication with both technical and non-technical audiences, from frontline users to executives.
• Willingness to work on-site and travel to customer locations up to 30%.

Nice to have

• Consulting, professional services, or implementation experience at a high-growth company.
• Previous forward-deployed engineering, solutions engineering, or deployment engineering experience.
• Familiarity with agent tooling, MCP servers, and production LLM workflows.
