Forward Deployed Engineer (Fintech)

Location: New York, NY, USA; hybrid work with 3 days per week in the office and 2 days remote

Salary: USD 120,000–150,000 per year plus performance-based bonus and equity

What you will do

• Support strategic enterprise opportunities through technical discovery, solution design, and executive customer engagements.
• Own technical demos, proofs of concept, and solution design initiatives.
• Design, build, and ship integrations and AI-agent workflows connecting Balance products to client systems.
• Ensure successful customer implementations and act as the escalation point for complex technical challenges.
• Translate customer feedback into product and engineering priorities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Technical Consulting, or Solution Architecture.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on ability to build and configure AI-agent-based workflows and integrations using modern coding and agent-orchestration tools.
• Strong business judgment regarding deal economics, ROI, and build-versus-scope decisions.
• Ability to identify customer problems, communicate context clearly, and engage with executive stakeholders during enterprise sales cycles.
