AI Data Platform Field Architect

Location: Remote/Teleworker, primarily working from home; US salary ranges are provided for Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, New Jersey, and Texas.

Salary: USD 153,500–298,500 annually in Colorado; USD 146,000–343,000 annually in Arizona, Nevada, New Jersey, and Texas. Compensation includes 80% base salary and 20% target-level sales compensation.

What you will do

• Lead data-centric architecture discussions covering data volume, velocity, distribution, locality, and movement patterns.
• Design and optimize AI pipelines for RAG, inference, and model training, including data access, metadata, indexing, retrieval, and GPU utilization.
• Lead technical discovery with enterprise customers and translate business objectives into scalable AI Factory architectures.
• Size AI environments based on GPU configurations, data volumes, throughput, model types, and workload requirements.
• Position object storage, data platforms, vector databases, and AI frameworks as strategic enablers of AI performance.
• Partner with Product Management to influence roadmaps and create reference architectures, design patterns, whitepapers, and technical presentations.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in technical presales, solutions architecture, or a field CTO role.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML workflows, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation, model inference, and deployment.
• Experience designing GPU-based environments and optimizing data flows across ingestion, retrieval, and model interaction.
• Knowledge of data pipelines, data lakes, object storage, and large-scale data access performance.
• Ability to lead customer discovery, evaluate solution fit, and communicate with technical and executive audiences.
• Experience collaborating with Product Management on reference architectures and product roadmap priorities.

Nice to have

• Experience with HPC concepts or distributed compute environments.
• Familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, vector databases, and related AI/ML ecosystems.
• Experience with cloud and hybrid AI infrastructure.
• Background in object storage or high-throughput data platforms.
