TL;DR
Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technician (Uncrewed Maritime Systems) (marine electronics/robotics): Building, integrating, testing, and maintaining electrical systems, payloads, wiring harnesses, and communications equipment for uncrewed surface vessels with an accent on hands-on assembly, vessel integration, and systematic troubleshooting. Focus on diagnosing power, wiring, sensor, and communication issues, supporting dockside and on-water testing, and converting engineering documentation into reliable operational hardware.

Location: Onsite work in West Palm Beach, Stuart, and Fort Pierce, Florida, with regular local travel between facilities, docks, vessels, and field-test locations.

What you will do

  • Assemble, install, modify, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical and electronic systems aboard uncrewed surface vessels.
  • Integrate payloads, sensors, communications equipment, navigation systems, and customer-furnished equipment.
  • Build cable and wire harness assemblies, including wire preparation, crimping, soldering, connector termination, labeling, and routing.
  • Support DC power systems, batteries, power distribution, relays, converters, actuators, and vessel electronics.
  • Use multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, current probes, and network diagnostic tools to test and diagnose systems.
  • Document test results, discrepancies, repairs, modifications, and as-built configurations while supporting laboratory, dockside, on-water, and field testing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of hands-on electrical, electronics, assembly, integration, maintenance, manufacturing, or field-service experience.
  • Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, pinout tables, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with wire harness fabrication, connector termination, crimping, soldering, and digital multimeters.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems systematically and perform hands-on installation work.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel reliably between South Florida work locations; occasional additional travel is required.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance when required, complete background screening, and meet U.S. ITAR/EAR work-authorization requirements.

Nice to have

  • Marine electrical or marine electronics experience and payload integration.
  • Experience with uncrewed vehicles, robotics, autonomous systems, or defense programs.
  • 12 VDC, 24 VDC, or 48 VDC power systems, CAN bus, DroneCAN, NMEA 2000, Ethernet, or serial communications.
  • Experience with GPS/GNSS, IMUs, navigation sensors, autopilots, RF systems, cameras, batteries, motors, or actuators.
  • Prototype development, low-rate production, PCB rework, or component-level troubleshooting.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hands-on work across engineering laboratories, production areas, marine facilities, docks, vessels, and field-test environments.
  • Collaboration with electrical, mechanical, software, systems, and operations teams in a fast-paced development environment.
  • Compensation includes salary, an annual equity package, and potential bonuses.
  • Work requires outdoor activity in South Florida heat, humidity, and direct sunlight, as well as climbing aboard vessels and lifting equipment weighing 40 pounds or more.
