Technical Product Manager (Kubernetes & Containers)

Location: Onsite, primarily working from an HPE office in the United States

Salary: USD 152,000–349,000 annually in Texas; USD 160,000–303,000 annually in Colorado; USD 172,000–349,000 annually in California. Additional variable incentives may be offered.

What you will do

• Write detailed product requirements and technical specifications for Kubernetes and container platform capabilities, including cluster lifecycle, CSI storage, CNI networking, autoscaling, and upgrades.
• Deploy clusters, test features, reproduce customer and support issues, and validate fixes before release.
• Collaborate directly with engineering on sprint planning, backlog grooming, design reviews, technical problem-solving, and release execution.
• Triage and prioritize bugs, escalations, and feature requests according to technical severity and customer impact.
• Define test plans and acceptance criteria with QA and engineering, and support field and sales engineering with technical answers, demos, and troubleshooting.
• Evaluate competing Kubernetes distributions and ecosystem tools, and contribute to release notes, technical documentation, and enablement content.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in product management or a hands-on technical role such as engineering, DevOps, or SRE, with direct Kubernetes and container experience.
• Hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes control plane components, kubelet, RBAC, namespaces, autoscaling, and cluster upgrade and lifecycle workflows.
• Practical experience with CSI dynamic volume provisioning, snapshots, StorageClasses, CNI or SDN networking, multi-cluster environments, and multi-tenancy.
• Ability to read and write basic Terraform or Ansible and use Python, Bash, or Go for testing, automation, or tooling.
• Direct experience operating CNCF ecosystem tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Calico, plus strong written communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes on VMware, KVM-based hypervisors, or bare-metal infrastructure.
