Associate Director, Procurement

Location: Available in 3 locations; domestic travel as needed.

Base salary: $149,000–$245,000 per year, with eligibility for 401(k), equity grants, and potentially an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a team of procurement professionals.
• Develop and execute multi-year category and sourcing strategies for complex, high-visibility engagements.
• Direct strategic sourcing, contract strategy, commercial negotiations, supplier management, and supplier performance programs.
• Build supplier segmentation and governance models covering performance, innovation, risk management, and business continuity.
• Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, cost modeling, and long-term spend management.
• Lead procurement transformation, technology implementation, organizational change, and capability development initiatives.

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, category management, procurement, or supply chain leadership.
• 3+ years of experience managing and developing procurement professionals.
• Proven success with multi-category sourcing strategies, complex supplier negotiations, contract development, and supplier performance management.
• Experience leading large-scale RFx events, supplier transitions, and strategic sourcing programs.
• Strong financial, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, executive presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to travel domestically as needed.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience implementing procurement technologies, sourcing platforms, or spend management tools.
• Lean, Six Sigma, PMP, or equivalent process improvement certification.
• Comfort working in a pet-friendly environment.
