Principal Engineer (AI)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States

Base pay: $261,500–$353,500 per year, plus eligible cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Drive major customer, business, and technology outcomes across the organization.
• Lead end-to-end technology initiatives, including horizontal architectural layers.
• Design and implement durable, robust, scalable, secure, and high-availability software solutions.
• Guide the application of AI to customer problems and evaluate solution accuracy.
• Partner with Architecture, Product Management, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and release features.
• Contribute to engineering standards, technology prototypes, patents, industry recommendations, and process improvements.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience developing systems or software for large business environments.
• 7+ years of experience designing complex distributed systems, management products, or business applications.
• Full-stack experience applying AI technologies to user experiences or backend solutions.
• Experience with AI technologies such as SageMaker, Vert.x, LangChain, large language models, prompt engineering, Dialogflow, or Python.
• Experience with frontend technologies such as React, Angular, SwiftUI, or Kotlin, or backend technologies such as Java, TypeScript, Spring, or Express.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, with strong analytical, communication, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS or GCP cloud environments.
• At least one year of experience on teams building AI-native applications.
• Experience working with global teams across time zones.
