Machine Learning Engineer, Search Quality (AI)

Location: Hybrid, with four days per week in the San Francisco office

Salary: $140,000–$265,000 annual base salary, with certain roles eligible for variable compensation, equity, and benefits.

Glean develops a Work AI platform with enterprise search, an AI Assistant, AI agents, SaaS connectors, large language models, and APIs for organizations.

What you will do

• Invent new signals to improve search personalization.
• Train models that capture interactions between signals in the ranking system.
• Design methods for adapting language models to individual customer corpora.
• Combine large language models with search engines to answer complex questions.
• Write readable, maintainable, testable production code.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with experienced engineers.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of professional experience.
• BA/BS in computer science, mathematics, sciences, or a related field.
• Experience with search, recommendation, natural language processing, or other large machine learning systems.
• Strong analytical and data skills, with experience designing, building, and shipping production-ready models.
• Proficiency in an ML framework and strong coding skills in Python, Go, Java, C++, or similar languages.
• Ability to work proactively in a customer-focused, cross-functional environment and take ownership of features.
