Senior Transmission Line Engineer

Location: Fully remote within the United States

Salary: $98,614–$167,644 annually

What you will do

• Design transmission lines from conceptual engineering through final design, including conductor sizing, induction, impedance, losses, and voltage-drop analysis.
• Perform conductor economic evaluations, lightning performance studies, grounding calculations, and electrical clearance determinations.
• Apply NERC, FERC, regional, and other industry standards to ensure compliant project deliverables.
• Prepare and review specifications, data sheets, RFQs, bid evaluations, vendor drawings, and purchase recommendations.
• Lead QA/QC for engineering deliverables, production drawings, CAD outputs, construction administration, and field issue resolution.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and clients on scopes, schedules, budgets, staffing, inspections, technical reports, and construction support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Power Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of transmission line engineering experience in design, analysis, modeling, or a similar area.
• At least 5 years of experience with an electric utility, EPC, or engineering consulting firm.
• At least 5 years of experience using PLS-CADD.
• Ability to work independently from a home office and deliver accurate work on schedule.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of NESC, IEEE, ANSI, FERC-881, and FAC-008 standards.
• Experience planning assignments, managing budgets and schedules, and communicating project barriers.
• Interest in continuous learning and developing expertise in power delivery programs and services.
