Electrical Engineer III (Aerospace and Defense)

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; office or hybrid environment. U.S. citizenship is required because the role requires obtaining and maintaining an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Estimated starting salary: $108,496.89–$149,183.22 per year.

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of electrical and electronic systems, including circuit card assemblies and wiring designs.
• Oversee testing, validation, integration, and troubleshooting of electronic systems and components.
• Develop technical designs, test plans, test results, and other engineering documentation.
• Participate in and lead design reviews while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Analyze complex system performance data and resolve electrical and electronic issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to improvements in engineering processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with 6+ years of relevant experience; an advanced degree may substitute for experience.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical and electronic design, validation techniques, engineering principles, schematics, and electronic measurements.
• Experience with computer-aided engineering tools, Altium Designer or other PCB CAD tools, PCB fabrication, layout, design rules, and IPC standards.
• Experience designing or routing I2C, RS-485, SPI, UART, USB, Ethernet, and PCIe communications protocols.
• Knowledge of FMEA, SSA, circuit card assemblies, PCB design lifecycle, and multidisciplinary development practices.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice to have

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in aerospace and defense standards, circuit simulation, electrical load analysis, and system analysis.
• Knowledge of EMC, EMI, HIRF, indirect effects of lightning, signal integrity, and power integrity.
• Experience with digital or analog circuit design, PCB bring-up, integration and test, and mechanical packaging constraints.
• Previous missile system development experience.
