Medical Lab Technologist (Microbiology)

Location: On-site at 4400 NE Halsey Street, Portland, OR 97213, United States. The role is scheduled for the 3rd shift and may require overtime or other shifts based on business needs.

What you will do

• Determine specimen acceptability and assist with specimen processing.
• Perform routine and complex microbiology testing according to standard operating procedures.
• Monitor, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instrumentation.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents and controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care.
• Perform preventive maintenance, quality control, supply replenishment, and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical science, biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
• At least 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience or an MLS degree.
• Computer proficiency and familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test and work flexible shifts when needed.

Nice to have

• Current or prior hirify.global experience.
• ASCP or AMT certification.
