Specimen Management Specialist

Location: Onsite in Raritan, New Jersey, United States. The schedule is Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; overtime or other shifts may be required.

Pay: $18.25–$22 per hour.

What you will do

• Act as a liaison between the laboratory, clients, and patients.
• Resolve internal and external customer requests through phone calls, instant messaging, and email.
• Research complex questions across multiple databases and provide customer education.
• Review test forms, identify discrepancies, and prepare specimens for analysis.
• Accurately identify, label, store, pack, and ship biological specimens.
• Triage specimens and meet established turnaround times in a fast-paced production environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfort handling biological specimens and ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Basic computer knowledge, data-entry skills, and strong written and verbal communication.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team while meeting physical requirements.

Nice to have

• At least three months of specimen-processing experience.
• At least three months of medical or laboratory experience.
