Research Technician - Schneider Lab (Cancer Research)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States; 100% onsite

Salary: $47,500–$51,300 per year

What you will do

• Set up, calibrate, clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Prepare supplies, specimens, samples, and laboratory work areas; coordinate purchasing and vendor interactions when required.
• Conduct standardized biological, microbiological, and biochemical tests and laboratory analyses.
• Monitor experiments, record observations, analyze data, interpret results, and prepare reports and presentations.
• Maintain detailed research notebooks and support grant applications, manuscript preparation, and potential publication work.
• Follow laboratory standard operating procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements while using computer-interfaced equipment, robotics, and other high-technology applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in biology or chemistry.
• No prior professional experience is required; the role provides detailed instructions and involves problems of limited scope.
• Knowledge of biology, chemistry, or medicine-related techniques is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with faculty and staff.
• Analytical thinking, attention to detail, thoroughness, and ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to work onsite in Boston, Massachusetts.
