Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Microbiology

Location: Onsite positions in Dublin, Ohio; Knoxville, Tennessee; Burlington, North Carolina; Brentwood, Tennessee; and Columbus, Ohio, United States

Salary: $25.85–$35.00 per hour plus shift differential. External candidates may receive a $7,500 sign-on bonus.

What you will do

• Evaluate specimen acceptability and assist with specimen processing.
• Perform routine and complex microbiology testing according to standard operating procedures.
• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate reagents and controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
• Perform preventive maintenance, quality control, supply replenishment, and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical science, biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
• At least one year of clinical laboratory testing experience in microbiology or an MLS degree.
• Knowledge of laboratory operations, policies, and procedures, preferably in a high-volume laboratory.
• Ability to work independently and within a team, with strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
• Computer proficiency and familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, pass a standardized color blindness test, and work overtime or other shifts when needed.

Nice to have

• At least three months of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• ASCP or AMT certification.
• Non-traditional degree with applicable science credits meeting CLIA standards.
