QA Automation Engineer - Associate

Location: Madrid, Paseo de Recoletos 27, Spain. Hybrid working model with time split between the office and home.

What you will do

• Design and execute manual test cases across frontend, API, and database layers, identifying edge cases, business risks, and integration scenarios.
• Create traceable test evidence and execution reports in Allure.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts with Cucumber BDD and Serenity BDD.
• Integrate automated tests into Jenkins CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing.
• Contribute to performance, load, and stress testing to improve reliability and scalability.
• Analyse defects, test results, and quality metrics while collaborating with developers, business analysts, product owners, and QA colleagues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of hands-on quality assurance experience, including manual testing and test automation.
• Experience with Serenity BDD, Cucumber, and Gatling, or strong willingness to deepen expertise in these tools.
• Hands-on experience with Git, Jenkins, Gradle, RESTful APIs, and web services testing.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Fluent English, written and spoken, is required. German is a plus.

Nice to have

• Experience in finance, investment risk, or asset management.
• ISTQB certification.
• Experience using AI tools to improve productivity and workflows with responsible judgment.
