TL;DR
Lead Specialist, Financial Analysis - Business Analysis & Control (Insurance/FP&A): Delivering advanced financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, and Finance transformation for an insurance and financial services organization with an accent on controls, data quality, automation, and executive decision support. Focus on building AWS-based financial data solutions, scalable models, Power BI dashboards, and standardized planning and reporting workflows.

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States; hybrid schedule with in-office attendance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

Salary: $128,000–$170,000 annually, plus potential eligibility for an annual bonus

What you will do

  • Analyze financial performance, trends, risks, and opportunities and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Develop forecasts, scenario analyses, management reports, performance metrics, and executive dashboards.
  • Maintain financial controls, governance, documentation, reconciliations, and reporting quality.
  • Lead Finance transformation workstreams that simplify, standardize, and automate planning, forecasting, and performance management.
  • Partner with Technology, Data, Actuarial, Capital Management, Investments, and Operations on AWS-based data solutions and integrated reporting architectures.
  • Build scalable financial data models and Power BI analytics that improve reporting efficiency and decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 10 years of financial analysis experience, including experience in insurance, financial services, or investment management.
  • Expert knowledge of accounting and finance, with strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to communicate business, market, and legislative issues at a strategic level and present complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and financial business systems.
  • Ability to work in the hybrid Cedar Rapids office schedule, with attendance required Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Nice to have

  • CPA certification or an advanced degree.
  • Extensive knowledge of investments, premiums, IFRS, or statutory accounting.
