Lead Software Engineer (Blockchain)

Location: Portugal (Remote); remote, in-office, and hybrid options are also available.

What you will do

• Lead the technical delivery of CatalyX Blockchain Manager and contribute hands-on through implementation and code reviews.
• Lead and mentor a distributed backend engineering team while setting standards for code quality, testing, and delivery.
• Translate product and client requirements into technical tasks, estimates, and sprint plans.
• Investigate and resolve critical technical issues, leading incident reviews and capturing lessons learned.
• Uphold engineering best practices across the software development lifecycle.
• Define responsible standards for using AI-assisted development tools and reviewing their output.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience in a globally distributed development environment.
• Experience leading development teams while remaining an active hands-on contributor.
• Excellent Java programming skills and strong knowledge of distributed systems and enterprise integration patterns.
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience and strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL.
• Experience with OAuth/OIDC, including Keycloak or Auth0.
• DevOps expertise in CI/CD, GitOps, infrastructure as code, observability, networking fundamentals, and AI coding tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with Canton/Daml or other enterprise blockchain frameworks.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
