Principal, Technical Program Manager

Location: Bentonville, Arkansas, United States; primary location at 2501 SE J St, Ste A, Bentonville, AR. The role is based in the Bentonville Home Office.

Annual salary: $110,000–$220,000 in Bentonville, Arkansas. A Bellevue, Washington salary range of $132,000–$264,000 is also listed. Additional compensation may include annual or quarterly performance bonuses and stock.

What you will do

• Define and manage program goals, stage gates, critical delivery paths, and key deliverables across interdependent projects.
• Secure commitments for scope, delivery dates, and resources while managing cross-functional dependencies.
• Translate product requirements into technical designs and establish robust system contracts.
• Identify, mitigate, and resolve risks to maintain progress and unblock teams.
• Establish scalable workflows, prioritization frameworks, and operational excellence practices.
• Communicate progress, risks, and impacts to stakeholders, align teams, and mentor team members on program execution best practices.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in program and project management, including risk and stakeholder management across complex, cross-functional initiatives.
• Ability to define and execute program plans with clear goals, stage gates, and critical delivery paths under resource constraints.
• Strong technical expertise in system design, cloud infrastructure, and software lifecycle management to guide scalable, high-availability solutions.
• Skill in identifying synergies, managing dependencies, and applying operational excellence frameworks to large-scale technology programs.
• Effective communication skills for aligning varied stakeholders and delivering clear, data-driven reports and updates.
• Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills for assessing risks, extracting insights, and implementing continuous improvements.
• Either a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related area plus 6 years of experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or a related area; or 8 years of relevant experience.

Nice to have

• Project management certification.
• Master’s degree in business administration with a specialization in strategy, supply chain, finance, information systems, or a related area, plus 4 years of experience in product design.
• Experience creating inclusive digital experiences and knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.
