Senior Provider Relations Representative

Location: Remote within the continental United States, excluding California, New York, Alaska, and Hawaii; field-based in the Austin, Texas market with required provider office visits

Base pay: $63,300–$114,300 annually

What you will do

• Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare providers.
• Support network performance and improve providers’ ease of doing business with HCSC.
• Serve as a resource and escalation point for provider concerns, tracking issues through resolution.
• Educate and train providers and conduct face-to-face consultations and office visits.
• Identify trends and evaluate provider performance against operational and financial requirements.
• Negotiate and manage healthcare provider contracts, reimbursement matters, and assigned territory activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business or 6 years of leadership experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in claims, customer service, physician office, hospital, or healthcare environments.
• At least 3 years of in-depth physician or provider relations experience, including contracting and reimbursement issues.
• Ability to negotiate and contract with healthcare providers, work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Ability and willingness to travel within the assigned area, including overnight stays.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other PC applications.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree with managed care experience or at least 5 years in a managed care environment.
• Healthcare administration experience in clinical and financial settings.
• Knowledge of provider reimbursement methodologies, managed care operations, claims processing systems, and healthcare contracts.
• Medicaid and Medicare Advantage experience, territory management experience, and knowledge of BCBSTX claims processing systems.
• Experience building relationships with provider leadership and conducting provider education and training.
