Medical Lab Technician (MLT) (Chemistry)

Location: San Diego, California; Torrance, California; or Phoenix, Arizona, United States. Onsite laboratory work on the 1st shift; casual/per diem hours are scheduled as needed and start and end times may vary.

Salary: $26.00–$31.00 per hour

What you will do

• Evaluate specimen acceptability according to established testing criteria.
• Perform routine and complex chemistry testing procedures according to standard operating procedures.
• Monitor, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instrumentation.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate reagents and controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
• Perform preventive maintenance, quality control, supply replenishment, and specimen processing.

Requirements

• Associate degree in chemical science, biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
• California State MLT license required.
• Computer proficiency; familiarity with laboratory information systems is beneficial.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment with strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to pass a standardized color vision screen.
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts according to business needs.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in chemical science, biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
• ASCP or AMT certification.
