Medical Laboratory Scientist (Chemistry)

Location: Central DuPage Hospital, 25 N. Winfield Rd., Winfield, Illinois, United States. Onsite third-shift work from 10:00pm–6:30am, including rotating weekends and holidays.

Salary: $34.00–$52.70 per hour.

What you will do

• Perform pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic workflows for clinical laboratory testing.
• Receive, label, evaluate, process, aliquot, store, and transfer patient specimens according to established protocols.
• Operate laboratory instruments, perform testing, review and interpret results, and complete reflex testing or follow-up actions when required.
• Perform quality control, preventive maintenance, reagent verification, troubleshooting, and corrective actions.
• Verify and release results, amend reports, respond to information requests, and complete billing or charge-capture activities when applicable.
• Follow SOPs and safety procedures, maintain patient confidentiality, support training, and participate in test validation and implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a qualifying allied health field.
• General MLS or MT ASCP certification, eligibility, or a qualifying categorical BB, C, H, or M ASCP certification.
• Applicants hired after January 19, 2025 must obtain ASCP or equivalent certification within one year of employment.
• Ability to work onsite overnight shifts from 10:00pm–6:30am, including rotating weekends and holidays.
• Ability to follow laboratory SOPs, quality systems, safety procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
