Location: Hybrid role based in Alexandria, Virginia, United States; some telework days are available. US citizenship and a US government-issued high-level security clearance are required.

Salary: $89,649–$152,404 per year for full-time employment.

What you will do

  • Support technology, research and development, and programmatic activities for NSF science and engineering innovation programs.
  • Provide technical and program support to directors managing R&D awardee portfolios.
  • Manage awardee coordination, milestone capture, technical reports, and program briefings for NSF leadership and interagency partners.
  • Coordinate technical discussions, meetings, conferences, partnerships, and new program concepts with government, industry, and other stakeholders.
  • Support systems engineering and process improvement across current, expanding, and new programs.
  • Conduct data analysis, improve user experience, and lead task implementation and team management when needed.

Requirements

  • BS or BA degree, or equivalent education and experience.
  • At least 10 years of research and development expertise, research project management, and project management experience.
  • US citizenship and a US government-issued high-level security clearance.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent communication and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with federal technical staff and programmatic contractor personnel.

Nice to have

  • Master’s or PhD degree.
  • Expertise in AI, emerging technologies, and national security policy.
  • Experience with project management, systems development and mapping, data analytics, visualization, and survey tools.
  • Knowledge of transition-to-practice processes and commercialization strategies.
  • Experience with innovation ecosystems, high-growth technology companies, federal research funding agencies, or SETA roles.
  • Experience supporting senior leadership and managing technical reporting, scheduling, and deliverable feedback.
