What you will do

  • Research resolution steps and workarounds for Computer Network Defense incidents.
  • Identify and validate threats using criminal, insider, hacktivist, and nation-state threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures.
  • Analyze intrusion indicators and log data across small- and large-scale IT networks.
  • Determine incident causes, infection vectors, severity, and mitigation requirements.
  • Track and document incidents from initial detection through final resolution.
  • Coordinate incident information across organizational components; some hires may work fixed weekend night shifts and escalate incidents to specialized analysts.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required; ability to obtain DHS Suitability required.
  • At least 2 years of directly relevant cyber incident management or cybersecurity operations experience.
  • Knowledge of incident response methodologies, NCCIC National Cyber Incident Scoring System, attack stages, vulnerabilities, and attack methods.
  • Knowledge of system administration, operating system hardening, and Computer Network Defense policies and procedures.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Incident Management, Operations Management, Cybersecurity, or a related field; alternatively, a high school diploma with 4–6 years of relevant experience.

Nice to have

  • GCIH, GCFA, GISP, GCED, CCFP, or CISSP certification.
  • Experience with different operational threat environments and advanced system or application security attacks.
