CNC Programmer

Location: Long Beach or Torrance, California, United States; onsite shop-floor and desk work required

Salary: $49.63–$80.93 per hour, depending on job level.

What you will do

• Analyze parts and develop machining strategies, tooling approaches, work-holding concepts, and DFM recommendations.
• Develop, verify, and simulate 3+2 and 5-axis milling programs for first-article components and production runs using Siemens NX CAM.
• Create probing programs, setup sheets, operator instructions, tool lists, and other shop-floor documentation.
• Design fixtures and work-holding solutions for R&D and high-rate production using Siemens NX CAD.
• Support CNC setup, machining, inspection, troubleshooting, and process refinement for first-article components.
• Test and validate machining, fabrication, and additive-manufacturing processes while contributing to manufacturing innovation and patent documentation.

Requirements

• Lawful ability to access information and technology subject to US export controls.
• Proficiency in CNC programming, setup, and machining, especially complex 5-axis milling and dynamic work offsets.
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, materials, cutting tools, and tooling practices.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles to programming, machining, and inspection.
• Familiarity with machine-shop safety, light fabrication, hand tools, manual mills and lathes, and standard metrology equipment.
• Ability to work onsite in Long Beach or Torrance and perform physical shop duties, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Experience with Siemens NX CAD/CAM, Siemens Teamcenter, MSP probing software, and Siemens or Heidenhain controllers.
• Experience with pallet systems and complex first-article components.
• Automotive, aerospace, or defense manufacturing experience, including aerospace production.
• Experience with additive manufacturing and related machining or fabrication processes.
