Clinical Laboratory Technician

What you will do

• Evaluate specimen acceptability and assist with specimen processing.
• Perform routine and complex technical laboratory procedures according to standard operating procedures.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate reagents and controls.
• Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Report accurate and timely test results while maintaining a safe work environment and using appropriate personal protective equipment.

Requirements

• Associate degree in chemical or biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
• Understanding of laboratory operations, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Computer proficiency and familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position, pass a standardized color blindness test, and work overtime or other shifts as needed.

Nice to have

• At least three months of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• ASCP or AMT certification.
• Experience in a high-volume laboratory environment.
• Applicable science credits from a non-traditional degree meeting CLIA standards.
