Location: Onsite in Arlington, Virginia, United States. The role supports onsite incident response for civilian Government agencies and critical asset owners.
Salary: $77,000–$163,000 per year, based on qualifications, relevant experience, and expertise.

What you will do
- Research resolution steps and workarounds to mitigate Computer Network Defense incidents.
- Analyze criminal, insider, hacktivist, and nation-state threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures.
- Detect and defend against intrusions across small- and large-scale IT networks and perform cursory log analysis.
- Identify incident causes, infection vectors, vulnerabilities, and attack methods.
- Track and document incidents from initial detection through final resolution while coordinating information across organizational components.
- On assigned shifts, triage incidents for Indicators of Compromise and escalate cases to specialized analysts.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Active TS/SCI clearance and the ability to obtain DHS Suitability are required.
- At least 2 years of directly relevant experience in cyber incident management or cybersecurity operations.
- Knowledge of incident response and handling methodologies, the NCCIC National Cyber Incident Scoring System, attack stages, vulnerabilities, and associated attacks.
- Knowledge of Computer Network Defense policies, procedures, regulations, operational threat environments, system administration, and operating system hardening.
- Bachelor’s degree in Incident Management, Operations Management, Cybersecurity, or a related field; alternatively, a high school diploma with 4–6 years of incident management or cybersecurity experience.
Nice to have
- GCIH, GCFA, GISP, GCED, CCFP, or CISSP certification.
- Additional knowledge of system and application security threats, including buffer overflows, cross-site scripting, injections, race conditions, covert channels, replay attacks, return-oriented attacks, and malicious code.
