Location: Arlington, VA; hybrid work with onsite incident response support

Salary: $77,000–$163,000 per year

What you will do

  • Investigate and resolve cyber incidents affecting civilian government agencies and critical asset owners.
  • Research resolution steps and workarounds to support mitigation of Computer Network Defense incidents.
  • Analyze threat actor tactics, techniques, procedures, vulnerabilities, and attack methods.
  • Apply cybersecurity concepts to intrusion detection and defense across small- and large-scale IT networks.
  • Analyze log data, identify incident causes and infection vectors, and coordinate information across organizational components.
  • Track and document incidents from initial detection through final resolution; some positions may work assigned shifts and escalate incidents to specialized analysts.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required; ability to obtain DHS Suitability required.
  • 2+ years of directly relevant experience in cyber incident management or cybersecurity operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Incident Management, Operations Management, Cybersecurity, or a related field; alternatively, a high school diploma with 4–6 years of incident management or cybersecurity experience.
  • Knowledge of incident response methodologies, NCCIC National Cyber Incident Scoring System, attack stages, vulnerability categories, and Computer Network Defense policies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across physical locations.

Nice to have

  • GCIH, GCFA, GISP, GCED, CCFP, or CISSP certification.
  • Knowledge of system administration, operating system hardening, operational threat environments, and system and application security threats.
