Senior Database Analyst (AI/ML)

What you will do

• Design, develop, maintain, and test relational and non-relational databases, data collection tools, and data pipelines for complex clinical research studies.
• Develop data cleaning, quality control, ETL, backup, recovery, access-control, dashboard, query, and reporting solutions.
• Integrate and harmonize structured, unstructured, electronic health record, and research datasets from disparate sources.
• Apply statistical analysis, machine learning, and AI techniques to support predictive modeling, anomaly detection, and clinical research insights.
• Prepare data files, tables, figures, statistical reports, power analyses, and publication materials for psychiatric and translational research.
• Collaborate with biostatisticians, clinical investigators, NYU IT, MCIT, EPIC, EDW, IRB, and REDCap stakeholders while mentoring junior data analysts and research assistants.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Biomedical Informatics, or a related field, plus 3 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination.
• Advanced knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, database architecture, data pipelines, data integration, quality control, and clinical data standards.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, and SAS, with experience in statistical modeling, data analytics, and machine learning.
• Knowledge of FDA, ICH, HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11, and GCP requirements related to clinical data systems and governance.
• Experience with automated reporting, dashboards, large multimodal datasets, data visualization, MS Access, MS SQL Server, VBA, and data security controls.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, solve technical challenges, communicate across organizational levels, and train users.

Nice to have

• Experience with scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or other AI/ML frameworks in healthcare or research analytics.
• Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, SAP BusinessObjects, Cardiff TELEform, LiquidOffice, OCR-based data capture, and MATLAB.

Salary: $84,577.93–$100,000.00 annually. The range excludes bonuses, incentive pay, differential pay, and other compensation or benefits.
