Experienced Clinical Nurse (Medical Oncology)

Location: 245 E. Chicago Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, United States; onsite day shift

Salary: USD 36.50–58.40 per hour

What you will do

• Provide and coordinate clinically competent, evidence-based nursing care for an assigned group of medical oncology patients.
• Develop individualized, age-specific and culturally sensitive plans of care using the nursing process.
• Advocate for patients, protect their safety and rights, and support patients and families throughout care and discharge.
• Assess patient responses, document interventions, update care plans, and escalate situations requiring further intervention.
• Educate patients, families, students and team members while participating in multidisciplinary decision-making and handoffs.
• Contribute to quality improvement, professional development, mentoring, precepting and unit-based initiatives.

Requirements

• Graduate of an NLN-accredited school or college of nursing.
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or higher.
• Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license required.
• Basic Life Support CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
• Analytical ability and effective oral, listening and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, including the ability to work through difficult situations.

Nice to have

• Experience in the specific clinical area.
• Nursing specialty certification, if eligible.
